Breast Health Manager (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) - The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner manages the mammography department and is responsible for developing and improving breast health services. Manages the interdisciplinary team for the breast health patient from initial contact through breast health treatment, to follow-up care. Work closely with radiologists in accumulating results and conveying difficult results to the patient. Be readily available for consult for patients needing immediate diagnostic work-up. Develop a close working relationship with providers and their support staff. Attend breast conferences and provide input on patients. Be involved in community events sponsored by Tuality as well as community fairs/events. Participate in physician outreach program... Work with the radiologists to determine recommendations to patients following biopsies. Acts as a guide to patients when navigating through healthcare options, and through our system. Serves as liaison for the patient between radiologist surgeon and oncologist. Make phone calls to patients instructing them of additional imaging procedures that must be performed to clarify interpretation. Assist with biopsy procedures when requested. Develop assessment tools to assist in treating every aspect of healing; that is, pain assessment, psychosocial, and financial. Perform CBE’s on those patients who indicate that they have not had this procedure performed or who are high risk. Be readily available to perform assessment on patient presenting with breast problem; discuss with radiologist and work with technologists in getting necessary procedures performed on same day. Requirements - Education: A copy of your highest academic diploma or transcript required upon hire; License: Licensed to practice medicine as a Nurse Practitioner by the State of Oregon or current Oregon Board of Medical Examiners unlimited Physician Assistant License; Certifications: Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS preferred upon hire, and required within 90 days of hire; Experience in women’s health field and oncology preferred; Knowledge of ACR guidelines for screening mammography; Knowledge of ACS guidelines for breast cancer detection, and risk factors for breast cancer; Knowledge of breast cancer pathophysiology, prevention/early detection strategies, diagnostic procedures, and treatment; Understanding of psychosocial impact of breast cancer diagnosis on patients and families; Knowledge of and experience applying adult learning theory concepts to teaching; Effective management and supervisory experience required; Experience in developing a team-oriented management philosophy; Financial management skills including budgeting and interpreting financial statements; Excellent skills in organization, problem solving, and motivation; Ability to adapt and implement change in an effective manner; Ability to delegate, multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision; Knowledge of marketing concepts and is able to identify markets and promote programs; Flexibility in work schedule, work volume, and staffing changes; Working knowledge of guest relations and customer service; Professional image in both appearance and behavior; Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; Effective written and verbal communication skills, including computer skills; Maturity, self confidence and interpersonal skills necessary to lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team and relate effectively with patients and families from a variety of backgrounds and with varied emotional and medical needs.
