The
AAPA shall adopt “Asociado Medico” as the official
Spanish translation for physician assistant.
Just
as the title “physician assistant” has become
the single, unifying term to identify our profession, we
have to build the same type of unique identification within
Spanish-speaking communities. Therefore we encourage you
to adopt the translation “asociado medico” when
identifying yourself to your Spanish-speaking patients.
A
new brochure, titled “Asociado Medico”, which
describes a PA in spanish, is available for your clinical
practice. Please do not reproduce it for purposes of distribution.
If you or your practice need additional copies, it is available
for sale through the AAPA store. Here is a link to the file
on AAPA’s Web site (http://www.aapa.org/images/associados.pdf).
¡Gracias!
